The International Society for Medical Shockwave Treatment Congress 2019
Keen to capitalise on how their colleagues had benefited from ISMST 2018 in Auckland, New Zealand, the rest of the East Coast Podiatry team was eager to attend this year’s event held in Beijing, China.
This annual Congress gathers multidisciplinary professionals from around the globe for scientific exchange and discussion involving the clinical applications for shockwave. Participants also had the opportunity for hands-on training on applying these techniques in clinical settings as well as reviewing cutting-edge research with experts from around the world.
This year’s Congress included multiple certification courses for shockwave applications as well as instruction on the use of medical shockwave for less commonly known applications such as skin and aesthetics treatment and the treatment of fungal infections.
The team also took the opportunity to explore the historical sights of Beijing, visiting places such as the Great Wall of China as well as the Forbidden City. The ISMST conference was again an enlightening and rewarding experience and the team looks forward to attending next year’s event in Vienna, Austria.
