We would like to extend our thanks and appreciation to St. Andrews Junior College for inviting us to speak at CareerSAdvance 2018 in November.
Speaking to a crowd of about two hundred students, senior podiatrist Georgina Tay and podiatrist Charlotte Thornton shared about the prospects and challenges of studying to be and being a practising podiatrist.
As podiatry remains largely unknown in Singapore, our podiatrists took the opportunity to educate students on the daily duties of a podiatrist as well as the possible career paths and opportunities available to those in the field.
We also provided the students with information on studying podiatry in the U.K. and Australia, elaborating on course fees, admissions criteria and the subjects that would be covered during the degree.
A number of students came up to our podiatrists after the talk and expressed an interest in finding out more about studying and practicing podiatry. Our podiatrists were keen to work with them as we believe that podiatry can only grow in Singapore if more students join the field.
