I am a teacher for 15 plus years now, a father of three beautiful young children and a not-so-committed-exercise-enthusiast. Six months ago, I noticed that after sitting or lying down, i couldn’t stand and walk without feeling an intense pain on my left foot. I would sometimes just limp to where i needed to go, until the pain becomes more tolerable. I would complain to my wife and she would just tell me to see a podiatrist. Her dad is a doctor so it was the usual response Iwould normally get when I feel unwell. I didn’t see the need for it at that time because the pain would just disappear after a while. Two months ago, the pain was more frequent and going to the loo in the middle of the night was without a struggle. I thought it was just due to bad circulation in in my leg and my feet, or simply “one of those signs of ageing,” (as my mum would tease.) I would give my feet a regular massage or would enjoy one that my wife kindly offers. Many weeks of enduring the pain just made my problem worse. I told my wife I thought seeing a podiatrist is the only way to know what was wrong. Just like any loving wife would say, “I hate to tell you, I told you so” was her response. I googled for podiatry clinic in Singapore and found the EAST COAST PODIATRY CLINIC to be more accessible from where I live. I came as a walk-in patient and and was seen by Dr. Louis He was very thorough in his examination and was very clear in his prognosis. As a Biology teacher, It was not difficult to understand my condition, and a as a teacher, I’d say he will pass as a good teacher too! He was clear, to the point and was open for any question. I didn’t feel being rushed like some doctors I’ve seen before. The treatment he proposed, the length of treatment, its cost and how the treatment would help were clear and easy to understand. I received my orthotic within a bit more than a week after my first visit and I found them comfortable to wear. I no longer limp right after sitting or lying down and going to the bathroom is no longer painful. The treatment, the orthotic and the stretches that Dr. Louis taught me to do regularly are definitely worth the money spent and the few visits to the clinic. I hope to recover fully and I wish the same to anyone with the same condition. I know many teachers are prone to this condition because of the nature of our profession. I encourage them to seek help directly from the experts in podiatry the moment they feel pain in their sole. The orthotic insoles are also preventive in nature. Do consider having one. The EAST COAST PODIATRY clinic is one top choice. Thank you to Dr. Louis!
I went to a gp when I had a painful spot on the sole of my feet, and he diagnosed it as just a callus that would go away eventually. When it didn’t go away for a month and i decided to see a foot specialist and found the east coast Podiatry Centre. It was instead diagnosed as a wart and from there I went through multiple wart treatment sessions from the team of podiatrists. Throughout all the sessions, they were very professional, effective, clean and the experience has been great and now I’m able to walk and do any physical activities without pain now that the wart is gone
I noticed some bruising under my nails that’s probably caused by my new hiking shoes. Didn’t do anything about it for a few weeks until a manicurist tried to help me remove the dried blood under the nails (by digging it out). Was expecting the nails to grow out and to just trim off the affected parts of the nail. Used an anti-fungal medication from the manicurist in the meantime. After a few months, I noticed that the infected parts of the nail seem to be ‘growing’ along the sides of the nails and then they started ‘meeting in the middle’. Googled on what to do and found this clinic. Reviews were good and it was nearby. Podiatrist was professional and explained how the infection likely occurred and how to treat it. Treatment started immediately and results were seen after the first few sessions. Very happy with the progress and infection all cleared in 6 sessions (about 2 months)!
I am very happy with my experience at East Coast Podiatrist. My son had flat foot from a very young age and has seen many podiatrist, but here they have frequent reviews and you can call them if you have any problem at all. My son now enjoys playing sports and hasn’t any problems walking around. He doesn’t complaint of pain anymore. Very happy with his progress.
I’ve been excruciating pain on my sole n Achilles heels since April this year and even after numerous trips to TCM clinics, my condition did not improve. One day as I was scrolling through facebook, I saw a video of Dr Michael Lai talking about heel spur otherwise known as plantar fasciitis. Upon coming to East Coast Podiatry Centre n just after 3 sessions of shock wave treatments by podiatrist, Mr Louis Loy, my condition improved drastically. I highly recommend anyone with heel spur problems to visit this clinic. The staff n doctors are helpful, friendly n professional.
Special thanks to Dr. Georgina who was very helpful and patient throughout the long treatment of my foot which suffered from a serious case of fungus infection. She goes out of her way to follow up with my treatments and gave email support to constantly monitor the condition of my foot.
For NSFs like me who suspect they have fungus infection, please do look for your MO immediately to get referred to a specialist or approach a specialist ASAP! In my case, the MO disregarded my condition as a bad blister in the earlier stages which caused my infection to worsen tremendously (my whole foot was blistering and it looked really bad!). The treatment is an extremely Long and tedious one but Thanks to the team at East Coast Podiatry and a dermatologist, I was able to be treated properly and educated on that matter which I shared with many of my fellow NSFs.
Highly recommended !
Absolutely amazing team and Super friendly and very knowledgable!
I’ve been suffering from a mysterious pain in the ball of my foot which I was told was nothing by my GP in London. I had also recently sprained my ankle at the gym. When none of these pain were going away I decided to look for a Podiatrist when I came across this clinic in Orchard.
Georgina and her team were quick to realise I had a very angry foot! After a scan, some shock wave therapy and speaking to her surgeons it was the last option but we agreed surgery was probably the best way for my recovery as my foot was pretty badly damaged. Turns out my foot was fractured and my ankle pain was still a mystery
Georgina had explained she worked closely with Dr Kannan who is under Parkway hospital and suggested I go see him. He explained my toe was not only fractured but the ligament was torn as well. After having another MRI scan on my ankle he explained my ligament had over stretched and that’s why I kept rolling on it and it didn’t feel stable. He was very good and had all the time in the world to make sure I understood everything.
After having surgery he discovered my ankle was actually torn and the fracture on the ball of my food was really bad.
I have to say I was very impressed with how friendly everyone was throughout the whole experience. They are all very happy to explain to you until you feel like you understand! The team work is amazing and I think it’s great you guys help each other out!
Post surgery hasn’t been fun but both Georgina and Dr Kannan have been very kind checking up on me!
Thank you to Georgina and her amazing team as well as Dr Kannan, his nurse Christine and there amazing team!
If you have any concerns with anything to do with your feet, definitely check them out!
After moving to Singapore I noticed some discoloration on my nails and after googling a bit found out that I have fungal nails. Got to know about PACT treatment after some research and booked an appointment here. Very happy that my nails are brought back to “health” after a few sessions. Podiatrists and front desk staff are friendly and helpful too. Beautiful, clean and bright place. Far cry from the podiatry clinics in the UK that I’ve been to.
My mum had her heel pain treated by Dr Sani. Very friendly, professional and sensitive doc. We managed to avoid surgery after he recommended we give shockwave treatment a try first. It took several sessions but the pain is completely gone. It was a great relief for mum who’s been suffering with the pain for many years and not willing to go for surgery. Very glad we seeked a second opinion. Much thanks and gratitude to the East Coast Team!
Very efficient, professional , helpful . I came to Podiatrist for treatment for my fungal on my toes. Post operative 2 weeks after my 2nd toe amputation , I was very worried about the fungal infection on my toes. Just to share, I visited many Doctors to get those toes treated but to my disappointment, the matter was taken very lightly and some even said that it was not fungal. Finally, I came to know about the Podiatrist at Orcard clinic. I am so Glad n relieved now. I had a complete foot screening done. Lots of reassurance and advice regarding foot care and proper foot ware. I did the pact therapy for the fungal n my toes are healed . I also had a vascular assessment done. Great service with genuine care. Special thanks to Dr Emily, Dr Kerry , DR Michael, to all staffs , warm n cheerful receptionist. I would strongly recommend everyone to come forward for your well being. I did and I’m grateful and blessed. Thank you.
I was having foot pain for weeks when I decided to visit East Coast Podiatry. The foot doctor (Dr Louis Loy) was so good in explaining possible causes of my foot pain, and what can be done to improve it, and eliminate the pain. They also have an apparatus to create customized orthotics to make sure in-soles are best-fit to your feet. At the end of every consultation, they will also teach you some foot exercise to help your foot recover naturally. Good service, worth the money la.
Didn’t know what Podiatry was until I saw the banner for foot and ankle specialist outside Kembangan Plaza. I brought my daughter in for a consultation as she kept tripping and complained of foot pain. It may not be cheap but the assessment was very comprehensive and explained in detail. Since they have the 0% installment option, the monthly payment is quite reasonable. Podiatrist (Louis) was warm and gentle with my girl who’s very shy. She no longer trips after wearing the customised insoles. So grateful for his helpful advice about types of shoes to get.
Georgina and the team are very helpful and friendly. They put my 11 year old daughter at ease when doing a very thorough review. Then explained solutions to us to help relieve her ankle and knee pain reflecting up from her feet. A pleasure to go to them.
Ingrown toe nail cause by trauma during outfield Having the problem of an ingrown toenail for a very long time, my girlfriend came across east coast podiatry and booked an appointment for me to have the nail checked. It was a very pleasant, helpful and reassuring experience with Podiatrist Louis Loy. Louis was very careful with having my toenail checked and also gave great insight to my condition, highly recommend! i was given a few options and went ahead with partial nail avulsion and my ingrown toenail problem never came back. the procedure was quick, painless and the centre even helped me gather documents from start to finish for my insurance. Highly recommended!!
Saw Georgina for leg problems about 3 weeks ago, very impressed with the level of service and skill. I took my daughter along and as she walked out of clinic Georgina noticed she was toe walking (very slight) and informed me of how to treat. Georgina seemed to have eagle sharp eyes.
Very very happy with this clinic. Highly recommend the clinic to anyone experiencing problems. Didn’t need a referral from Dr to be seen.
I rarely came across great Doctors who really help you understand what is going on with your body, so when I do I feel compelled to write a good review. I have a terrible pain in my foot for years and no doctor was able to clearly diagnose the problem and give me a solution to the disturbing pain until I googled pain in my foot and found East Coast Podiatry and decided to give them a shot.I consulted with Emily and Ben and went through their shockwave therapy treatment and received sound advice from them regarding getting full custom orthotics. Everyone has different feet and getting those were Long term solution to my feet problem. Well, since completing the treatment and getting those orthotics the pain has reduced significantly. I would definitely recommend them to anyone who has pain in their foot. They were even nice enough to provide consultation to my kid’s foot!
