FAQ: Health Insurance For Podiatry In Singapore
During consultation, your Podiatrist may be able to advise you if your insurance company and policy covers your in-clinic charges.
It is important to note that your claims are subject to your insurer’s discretion and final assessment as stipulated in your policy agreement. If your insurer does not approve your claim, you will be responsible for the full amount of your expenses.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does my insurance policy cover?
There are many similar insurance policies that many people have but due to various circumstances, your policy could cover very differently from another person with the same type of policy from even the same insurance agency.
Insurance policies can be largely different from local insurers to foreign insurers, and then corporate insurance. There are cases of exclusions, pre-existing conditions, lapses in premium payments, corporate insurance types and many more scenarios that affect your coverage.
My insurer has confirmed that I am covered for Podiatric care. Does this mean the entire cost will be reimbursed?
Not necessarily, all claims are subject to final assessment by your underwriter. A full coverage on your policy document does not guarantee a full reimbursement.
Do you accept Letter of Guarantees (LOG)?
We are unable to accept LOG/GOP at the moment, patients will need to make full payment at our centre and seek personal reimbursement directly from their insurer.
Are Consultation Fees & Podiatric services Insurance Claimable?
Your insurance policy document should indicate if Outpatient Podiatry Consultation / Assessment / Service fees are covered under your plan. Please note that all claims are subject to a final assessment by your underwriter.
Do check with your insurance provider:
- That your insurance policy is in-force (active)
- If you are subject to co-insurance, co-payables or deductibles
- If you have exhausted your monthly/annual limit
- Claim submission requirements
If in doubt, please contact your insurance provider directly to ascertain your insurance coverage.
Do you accept insurance?
Yes. East Coast Podiatry works with a range of insurance providers and third-party administrators (TPAs). Whether your visit is covered depends on your individual policy, annual outpatient limits, and whether your plan includes podiatry or musculoskeletal benefits.
Many patients are able to claim all or part of their consultation and clinical costs, depending on their coverage.
Which insurance providers are you partnered with?
Allianz Care and BUPA members can enjoy cashless arrangements and direct billing at East Coast Podiatry.
For insurers that we are not partnered with, you may still submit our invoice and podiatrist memo for reimbursement under your outpatient or personal accident benefits for claims.
What podiatry services are typically covered?
Coverage varies between insurance plans; many policies include reimbursement for consultation fees, diagnostic assessments or gait analysis, therapy sessions and custom orthotics for foot and lower-limb conditions.
Your eligibility will depend on the benefits outlined in your specific policy, and we can help guide you on what to check with your insurer.
Do I need a referral letter?
Referral requirements vary across insurance plans. You may reach out to us, and we can guide you on what to check with your insurer.
Can you check my insurance eligibility before my appointment?
Yes. For Allianz Care and BUPA members, we are able to check your eligibility directly on our end, simply send us a photo of your insurance card and we will ascertain your eligibility and coverage.

What documents do I need for insurance claims?

Can I use my corporate medical or flexi-benefits?
Yes. Many corporate insurance and flexi-benefit schemes cover podiatry services. You may submit our invoice and podiatrist memo to your company or insurer following their claim process. If needed, we can help you understand what to confirm with your insurer.
